This position is accountable for supervising, planning, directing, reviewing, and evaluating design activities.

The Department may require employees to perform functions beyond those contained in job descriptions. The Department may modify job descriptions based on Department needs. The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department is an "at will" employer.

• Assign tasks to maintain equal workload among staff members.
• Supervise squad members to assure proper development of design plans.
• Review design plans to maintain quality control on input of design components.

Possession of a current Arkansas license to practice professional engineering.  Knowledge and experience in all phases of highway design, and familiarity with Department policies and procedures.  Supervisory and technical writing capabilities.
